San Francisco Tours in a VW Bus!

While I was in San Francisco last weekend, I had the super fun opportunity to shoot some really cool commercial photos for my very good friends Erik and Amy who are starting a tour company around the Bay Area in a bright red 1971 Volkswagon Bus.

I know the couple from working at summer camp together and I had the pleasure of shooting their wedding a few years ago. The two are very business savvy and I think this idea is super neat.

Vantigo will hopefully be starting up in the next month or so.

More to come.

People I Know: Bob Gamber

One of my friends and favorite photo subjects, Bob Gamber, has been in front of my camera lately.

Gamber has owned Vinyl Revolution record store in Monterey for nearly 20 years and plays drums in a 60s garage band The Tomb Weavers.

Below, Bob plays drums with the band at a recent show at East Village Coffee Lounge in Monterey.

Bob was also part of the recent Big Sur Fashion Show, where he was dressed as a triton.

2013 Big Sur Fashion Show

On Thursday evening I ventured into another world to shoot the fifth annual Big, Big, Big Sur Fashion Show at Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur.

All the costumes were designed by local folks and could only be made with recycled, re-used or edible materials. It was super creative with dressed made out of everything from shot film and flattened aluminum cans to spent coffee filters and found bones.

It was wild. Nudity, glitter and lots of colorful costumes were in full force the entire night.

My sneakers surrounded by glitter.
